About the artist

Josh Janes is a Newfoundland and Labrador–born country singer-songwriter. At 24, he is quickly emerging as one of Atlantic Canada’s promising modern country voices, building momentum through consistent touring, sold-out regional shows, and major festival appearances. In 2026, Janes performed at Gobblefest (Cape Breton), continuing his trajectory of high-profile festival bookings. In 2025 and 2024, he appeared at Ribfest (Halifax Harbourside), one of the region’s largest outdoor summer events, performing to large public audiences and expanding his fanbase. Alongside these festival appearances, he has independently sold out multiple 100+ ticketed headline shows across Cape Breton, Newfoundland, Labrador, and Halifax, demonstrating proven audience draw and sustained regional demand. Earlier notable performances include appearances at The Carleton and The Grawood in Halifax, Iron Rock in Labrador City, and numerous venues throughout Cape Breton. His live reputation is built on strong audience engagement, natural stage presence, and emotionally direct songwriting. Janes released his debut album, Seasons Change, which introduced a softer, acoustic-leaning sound influenced by artists such as Jack Johnson and John Mayer, blending melodic storytelling with introspective lyricism. The project marked his first full-length release and established his presence on streaming platforms across Canada. His current single, “Hometown Pride (Classic)”, has become his most successful release to date, strengthening his position in the country market. He is now transitioning fully into contemporary country with an upcoming album inspired by the songwriting of Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan, guitar influences from Zach Top and Vince Gill, and harmony textures reminiscent of The Eagles. His forthcoming single, “Miss Me,” continues this evolution. Josh began playing drums at age 10, picked up guitar at 15, and started writing songs at 17. That early foundation developed into a career defined by honest storytelling, relatable themes, and a growing presence across Atlantic Canada’s live music circuit. Through steady touring, sold-out regional performances, and high-visibility festival bookings, Josh Janes continues to expand his audience while representing Newfoundland and Labrador’s next generation of country artists.
